Hello Alfred and Megan,
Learning about your upcoming visit made my day. Since you will be arriving on Friday, one day before Alfred’s birthday, your mom and I have decided to take you both to Bolos, our favorite restaurant, to celebrate. I figured that if you knew more about Bolos, you could see why we have made this decision. Here’s a description of the Bolos’ experience.
Bolos has been in this town for 28 years already. Established in 1992 by Steve Bolos, the award-winning chef, whose culinary skills were featured in Anthony Bourdain’s tv show more than once, is now owned, and operated by Mr. Bolos’ son Nathan and his wife Helen. The new owners have imprinted their fresh and modern style, not only on the dining room decorations, and the soft background music, but also in the large variety of plates they offer on their Menu. Their Menu changes every month. The amazing part about this is that the changes to the Menu are originated by customers’ recommendations. If they adopt the recommendations made by a customer named Harry and his wife Wilma, that month the Menu is called Bolos’ July Menu by Harry and Wilma. This practice has cultivated the loyalty of many customers, who continue to grow in numbers. Having dinner at this place is a great treat, let alone an unforgettable experience.
Nathan and Helen have three children of their own. This is perhaps the reason why they added a Playground annex within the restaurant, so small kids can have fun while their parents enjoy a good meal. Plus, you can always keep an eye on them for the Playground has glass walls, which allows a full view from inside the dining room. Parents love it. Our next-door neighbors dine there once a week. This is what they have said to us about dining in Bolos: “We couldn’t have done it any other way. Not only their food is the best, but their attentions to us are unique, they just treat us so well and make us feel that we are very special. We highly recommend it. Warning: once you dine in there the first time, you can’t help going back, and back”. Similar comments have been made by my co-players at the Golf Club, and especially by Tom Myers, the Club Pro. I believe that you, Megan, and the kids are going to love it too. They do offer some meal options, that I know are still your favorite.
It goes without saying that their food is very popular, it’s tops. Bolos is in such a high demand that now you need to make reservations at least three-four months in advance, to secure a table. Knowing that you, Megan and your two kids were coming to visit this coming weekend, we went ahead and made the reservations four months ago. We have a table for 8 reserved for us.
I have left the best news for last. Your mom and I coincided with Nathan and Helen at the supermarket last week and they told us that their company, Bolos Enterprises, is planning to open a new restaurant ten miles from where you currently live. They estimate that the new eatery should be up and running within six-nine months. When they shared that news with us, I couldn’t help but think of you guys and how lucky you got.
All being said, it is obvious that for this plan of dining together this weekend to work, it requires your approval and consent. Please, send me an email or text message stating a yes, I agree Dad or No, but thanks Dad, we have other plans.
Love, Dad
